Changes in Extreme Temperature Events and Their Contribution to Mean Temperature Changes during Historical and Future Periods over Mainland China

چکیده

Extreme climate events undoubtedly have essential impacts on terrestrial ecosystems, but the spatiotemporal patterns of extreme at regional scales are unclear. In this study, based observations and 14 CMIP6 global models, we analyzed changes in temperature mainland China scale different basin historical future periods, their relative importance for mean (Tmean). The results show that period, cold days nights significantly decreased, while Tmean, warm days, increased. However, rates increase Tmean Continental Basin, Southwest Basin Yellow River higher than scale. multi-model ensemble is best model simulating China. At future, trends slow, rapid, extremely rapid under SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5 SSP5-8.5, respectively. addition, Songhua Liaohe larger those a great influence Chinese all related to minimum temperature. findings from study can provide references formulating scientific reasonable regional-scale change policies.

Historical changes of temperature and vapor pressure deficit during the crop growing season in Iran

Climate change variables have rarely been analyzed specifically for the growing season of crops. In this study, changes in minimum (Tmin) and maximum temperature (Tmax), daily maximum saturated vapor pressure (VPsat) and estimated daily VPD weighted for transpiration (VPDtran) were examined at five locations in Iran over 40 years during the growing seasons of chickpea and maize. The results of ...

Going to the Extremes an Intercomparison of Model-simulated Historical and Future Changes in Extreme Events

Projections of changes in climate extremes are critical to assessing the potential impacts of climate change on human and natural systems. Modeling advances now provide the opportunity of utilizing global general circulation models (GCMs) for projections of extreme temperature and precipitation indicators. We analyze historical and future simulations of ten such indicators as derived from an en...

Detection of urbanization signals in extreme winter minimum temperature changes over Northern China

Although previous studies show that urbanization contributes to less than 10 % of the long-term regional total warming trend of mean surface air temperature in northeast China (Li et al. 2010), the urban heat island (UHI) impact on extreme temperatures could be more significant. This paper examines the urbanization impact on extreme winter minimum temperatures from 33 stations in North China du...

Changing Trends and Abrupt Features of Extreme Temperature in Mainland China from 1960 to 2010

Studies based on the 10th (90th) percentiles as thresholds have been presented to assess moderate extremes in China and globally. However, there has been notably little research on the occurrences of high extremes of warm days and hot days (TX95p and TX99p) and cold nights and very cold nights (TN05p and TN01p), based on the 95th and 99th (5th and 1st) percentiles of the daily maximum (minimum)...
